With roots in Scotland, Newfoundland and Georgian Bay, we blend traditional instrumentation with humour, artistry and history to tell Canadian stories, our stories and even YOUR stories in original ways. We’re Great Big Sea having a dram too many with Stan Rogers. We’re Gordon Lightfoot meets “Who’s Line is it Anyway?” We’ll make you stomp your feet and we might also make you cry. But, no matter what, we WILL have a great time with you.
Strange Potatoes: a funny energetic band of musical characters that come together to create maximum fun! Along with an arsenal of songs from almost every genre, Strange Potatoes use wit, charm and a unique interactive approach to performing to create an infectious good time! With each member providing lead and harmony vocals while trading off an acoustic and electric guitars, fiddle, mandolin, harmonica, penny whistles, bass and even a stand up drum kit made of suitcases, Strange Potatoes are as comfortable on a festival stage as they are "busking" at a backyard party.
