Through the stories of the participating women, we will discuss rural identity, landscape stewardship, and handed down traditions, also exploring how life in the fields inspires artistic expression and the preservation of our historical heritage. As is traditional for Tea and History events , the conversation will take place in a welcoming and informal atmosphere, enriched by the sharing of a cup of tea or coffee and treats
This day represents a unique opportunity to honour the economic, cultural, and social contributions of women to our rural history and present, transforming a global recognition into a moment of authentic local celebration.

The Marionette is a comic thriller in classic Fallis style. James Norval has built a hugely successful career writing spy thrillers — but has always secretly dreamed of living the life he only writes about. When a series of unfortunate events lands him in a foreign prison and CSIS comes to the rescue, he finally gets his chance: infiltrate the Malian government and help exfiltrate fifteen Canadian nationals before things go very wrong. Wit, suspense, and Canadian ingenuity ensue.
Terry is one of Canada's most beloved comic novelists. His debut, The Best Laid Plans, won the Leacock Medal and was crowned the CBC Canada Reads "essential Canadian novel of the decade" — later adapted for both television and the stage. He's been making Canadians laugh, think, and stay up too late ever since.
The event takes place at Creemore Springs Brewery on Thursday, June 18th. Doors open at 6:30pm, event starts at 7pm. Terry will read from and talk about his new book, followed by a moderated Q&A with Curiosity House owners Joel and Kate, and a book signing. Every ticket includes a complimentary drink from the bar.
